Booklist Review

Ages 4-8. Reflecting the many moods of family life, from frazzled to reflective, Hoberman's 25 short poems sound convincingly childlike in tone and sentiment. Many kinds of families are represented in the verse, and folks of various races appear in the illustrations, but it's the bond of common experience that gives the book its universality. With pick-me-up appeal, Hafner's colorful line-and-watercolor artwork captures the general good spirits and occasional poignancy of the text. A fine source of poems to read aloud, particularly during those preschool and primary-grade units on the family. ~--Carolyn Phelan
